Mr. Jadalla Alaokali Member of the Board of Directors and Mr. Khaled Bukhatwa General Manager of Health, Safety, Environment, Security and Sustainable Development Department at NOC paid a visit to Zelten Oil Field accompanied with Mr. Abdalla Eshweiqi Chairman of the Management Committee of Sirte Oil Company, Mr. Mohamed Ehmeida Awadh Member of the Management Committee of the Company and Mr. Abdalaziz Najem Industrial Security Controller. The purpose of the visit was to support the employees and workers in the Field for the great loss that resulted in the death of one employee and two workers affiliated to a contractor in addition to the injury of another employee during the maintenance works.
The delegates examined the scene of the incident and extended their sincere condolences to the workers of the Field praying to Al Mighty Allah to be merciful to the deceased and grant their families patience and solace.
Mr. Alaokali also conveyed the condolences of Eng. Mustafa Sanalla, Chairman of the Board of Directors, to all the employees of Sirte Oil Company and Al Barq Construction Company asserting that he has been in continuous contact with him and the Company's Management since the first moments of the incident. Mr. Chairman gave strict instructions regarding the importance of the employees' safety as being NOC and its subsidiaries' top priorities. Therefore, a serious investigation must be conducted and firm measures must be taken according to the conclusions of the investigation in order to prevent the occurrence of such accidents in future.
The delegation visited Safety and Firefighting Section and commended the role of firefighters who responded immediately in record time when the incident was reported by quickly moving to the site, assessing the situation and taking the necessary procedures.
The delegation also met with the employee "Es-seid Jamal Es-seid" who arrived at the scene immediately after the accident had happened and informed about it acting in accordance with the sound practices followed in such accidents. The delegation saluted Mr. Es-seid for his courage and wisdom and for not committing any recklessness or rashness that might lead to dangerous injury. Mr. Jadalla commended his wits and recalling the basics of the job and safety requirements.
