Within NOC's Social Initiatives Program and under the patronage of Eni, the Italian oil and gas company, the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Machine at Burns and Cosmetic Surgery Hospital in Tripoli – having been out of order for more than two years, was re-operated on Monday 25/12/2017 after the needed spare parts and helium gas were provided.
Mr. Jadalla Alaokali Member of the Board of Directors and Mr. Khaled Bukhatwa General Manager of Health, Safety, Environment, Security and Sustainable Development Department at NOC paid a visit to Zelten Oil Field accompanied with Mr. Abdalla Eshweiqi Chairman of the Management Committee of Sirte Oil Company, Mr. Mohamed Ehmeida Awadh Member of the Management Committee of the Company and Mr. Abdalaziz Najem Industrial Security Controller. The purpose of the visit was to support the employees and workers in the Field for the great loss that resulted in the death of one employee and two workers affiliated to a contractor in addition to the injury of another employee during the maintenance works.
The delegates examined the scene of the incident and extended their sincere condolences to the workers of the Field praying to Al Mighty Allah to be merciful to the deceased and grant their families patience and solace.
Mr. Alaokali also conveyed the condolences of Eng. Mustafa Sanalla, Chairman of the Board of Directors, to all the employees of Sirte Oil Company and Al Barq Construction Company asserting that he has been in continuous contact with him and the Company's Management since the first moments of the incident. Mr. Chairman gave strict instructions regarding the importance of the employees' safety as being NOC and its subsidiaries' top priorities. Therefore, a serious investigation must be conducted and firm measures must be taken according to the conclusions of the investigation in order to prevent the occurrence of such accidents in future.
The delegation visited Safety and Firefighting Section and commended the role of firefighters who responded immediately in record time when the incident was reported by quickly moving to the site, assessing the situation and taking the necessary procedures.
The delegation also met with the employee "Es-seid Jamal Es-seid" who arrived at the scene immediately after the accident had happened and informed about it acting in accordance with the sound practices followed in such accidents. The delegation saluted Mr. Es-seid for his courage and wisdom and for not committing any recklessness or rashness that might lead to dangerous injury. Mr. Jadalla commended his wits and recalling the basics of the job and safety requirements.

Within NOC's interest in updating its administrative, financial and applied software programs commensurate with the work of NOC and its subsidiaries, drawing on the expertise and competencies of major companies specialized in this field, Member of the Board for Manufacturing, Planning and IT Mr. Jadalla Alaokali held several meetings and discussion sessions with the Regional Managers of Oracle and Microsoft corporations during his stay in Cairo from 17 to 20 December 2017. The specialists from these two corporations delivered technical presentations which showed their capabilities and facilities in these fields in accordance with the latest technologies and expressed their willingness and commitment to cooperate with NOC and its subsidiaries.
Eng. Mustafa Sanalla, NOC Chairman of the Board of Directors, held a meeting on Thursday 21 December 2017 with the Municipal Council of Al Jufra including Mayor of the Municipality Mr. Othman Abu Baker Hasouna, Member of the Municipality Council Dr. Abdelateef Almehdi Jalala and the Representative of Al Jufra at the House of Representatives Dr. Ismaeel Esh-sherif. The meeting was also attended, on the part of NOC, by Mr. Mokhtar Abdedayem Manager of Sustainable Development Department.
