The chairman of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Libyan Sanctions Committee, Olof Skoog, has confirmed the UN’s commitment to the prevention and halt of the illegal export and sale of Libyan crude and refined products outside of existing legal frameworks. Parties also discussed the importance of the exclusion of parties who attempt to extort the oil sector through the political process and its protection from political and regional quotas.

Within the framework of ongoing efforts by the National Oil Corporation (NOC) to secure target quantities of natural gas, and the optimal utilization of reserves available within Wafa field NC-169, Mellitah Oil and Gas Co (MOGCO) is nearing the completion of a project to install four new gas compressors. This strategic project aims to use the new compressors to compensate for the low pressure of the reservoir, and stimulate wells to produce additional quantities of gas.
