Maintenance teams continue to work to stop oil leak in production pipeline

The NOC’s maintenance and emergency teams continue their efforts to stop an oil leak in a crude oil pipeline south of Zawiya.

The maintenance teams of the Arabian Gulf Oil Company began taking the necessary measures immediately after discovering the leak. Production from the Hamada fields through this pipeline was immediately halted, a valve located in Alriyayna was closed, and flow valves at the Zawiya refinery were opened to relieve pressure on the pipeline.

In parallel with the maintenance work, a team of specialists is conducting the necessary investigations to determine the causes of the leak. Arrangements and coordination are also underway to clean up and recover the spilled oil and tackle any resulting environmental pollution.

The Chairman and members of the NOC’s Board of Directors are closely monitoring the progress of the work around the clock. They are overseeing the workflow, taking required preparations for maintenance, conducting site rehabilitation, and issuing the necessary directives regarding any developments.
