Sirte Oil and Gas Company Achieves a Remarkable Milestone with Modern Technologies.
Sirte Oil and Gas Company announced the successful drilling of a directional well in the Zelten field (C343H-6), featuring a horizontal section that exceeds 2,300 feet within the Harash reservoir. This well targets the C section, which has a thickness of no more than 5 feet and exhibits high porosity and permeability.
The company explained that the encouraging results from examining this thin layer for the first time indicate it as a promising reservoir with extensive extensions. The well produced over 1,400 barrels per day, along with a natural flow of associated gas exceeding 2.3 million cubic feet per day.
This remarkable success resulted from a thorough study and a well-considered plan that adhered to the highest technical standards. It was achieved using the latest “Periscope” directional drilling technology, which effectively maintained a horizontal path within the targeted thin layer.
It’s worth noting that the company achieved this accomplishment with its national technical and engineering staff, showcasing the competence of Libyan workers and their ability to consistently deliver outstanding results.
