Ras Lanuf Ethylene Plant Starts Its Initial Operations

Ras Lanuf Oil and Gas Processing Company has started the process of restarting its ethylene plant following the completion of extensive maintenance work undertaken by national technical teams.

The first phase involved introducing naphtha into the thermal cracking furnaces and activating the main compressor. This was done according to an operational plan that follows the highest safety standards to ensure the safe and stable operation of both equipment and personnel.

Production of final materials that meet standard specifications is expected to start within the next two days, after the plant has been shut down since February 2025.

The Chairman and members of the Board of Directors of the NOC extend their gratitude to all employees of Ras Lanuf Company for their ongoing efforts and strong commitment to occupational safety standards during the maintenance and restart process. They emphasized their determination to continue working diligently to fully revitalize and operate this large petrochemical complex, from the raw material source to subsequent stages, including aromatic benzene and more.
