Sarir Field Gains Momentum as L-028HR Well Rejoins Production Line

The Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO) announced on Tuesday, February 04, 2026, that it has resumed production at the L-028HR well in the Sarir field. This follows the successful completion of a comprehensive technical development program. The well is now capable of producing 2,200 barrels of crude oil and 350,000 standard cubic feet of gas each day. The AGOCO Board of Directors praised the dedication and hard work of the company and its employees in achieving this milestone.

The development program involved specialized maintenance teams efficiently carrying out mechanical and electrical connections at the Sarir field. Further, the field’s production monitoring engineering teams performed wellhead maintenance and replaced damaged valves, ensuring the well is prepared for production at the highest technical standards.

It’s important to highlight that this well dates back to August 1982, but it was never put into production. Instead, it served as an observation well to monitor reservoir pressures until a recent reassessment led to the decision to develop it. This aligns with the NOC’s plans and strategies to boost production.

The Chairman and members of the Board of Directors of the NOC express their heartfelt gratitude to AGOCO and all its employees across various oil sites for their hard work in completing this project. They reaffirm their ongoing support for everyone involved in boosting production and contributing
