NOC and Brega Petroleum Discuss Infrastructure Upgrades and Fuel Supply Systems
The National Oil Corporation’s (NOC) Oil Industries Department held its 2026 annual technical meeting with Brega Petroleum Marketing Company on Sunday, October 18, at Brega’s headquarters in Tripoli.
Discussions centered on reviewing operational performance, tracking project progress, and outlining key requirements to upgrade regional fuel supply systems.
During the session, the Director of the Oil Industries Department stressed the need to boost infrastructure efficiency, expand storage capacity, and ensure depot readiness. He also emphasized resolving pipeline bottlenecks to maintain uninterrupted fuel flow, while calling for third-party investments to modernize facilities and expand storage capabilities.
Participants also mapped out strategies to resolve delays on stalled projects and clear pathways for their completion. The discussion extended to engineering studies for new supply pipeline routes from the Zawiya Refinery to handle anticipated increases in fuel volume.
Furthermore, officials reviewed safety and environmental protocols, inspection and metering operations, and Brega’s 2027 targets and budget projections.
The meeting concluded with attendees agreeing to turn these discussions into a prioritized, actionable plan aimed at boosting operational efficiency, securing sustainable fuel supplies, and improving service quality for citizens nationwide.
