During the activities of the CERAWEEK conference, held in Houston, Texas, USA.

The Chairman NOC, Eng. Mustafa Sanalla, was hosted as an official speaker in some sessions and panels discussions on the future models of oil and gas companies, as well as the development of exploration and production opportunities and models.
The Chairman talked about Libya’s oil and gas reserves and resources potential, the current production rates and Libya’s strategic location, which makes it very close to the European Market.
 
The Chairman has touched on the NOC’s new strategy that focus on gas production and increasing Libya’s gas rates to respond to the increasing demand for gas in the European Market. Mr. Sanalla re-emphasised his call to reduce dependence on gas in generating electricity and relying on generating electricity from alternative energies.
 
Mr. Sanalla emphasized the NOC’s strategy to reduce carbon emissions through the optimal exploitation of oil and the utilisation of the associated gas. The Chairman touched on some projects to reduce gas flaring and optimal utilisation of the gas , such as the project to recover LPG from flared gas at the Gas Oil Separation Plant (GOSP) NC-186 in the El-Sharara field, as well as the project to extract cooking gas from flared gas in the GOSP of Mabrouk field, these are considered a contribution to sustainable development, which will have the most important impact on the local communities adjacent to the areas of operations of the NOC.
 
Mr. Sanalla emphasized his encouragement and support for international companies operating in Libya and his efforts to create an investment environment to maintain the presence of existing partners and attract other partners to invest in Libya.
