Discussing mutual cooperation between NOC and the United Kingdom

The Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mustafa Sanalla, received on Thursday April 29, 2021, at the headquarters of the National Oil Corporation (NOC) in Tripoli, the Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy to Libya Mrs. Kate English and her accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, ways to strengthen mutual cooperation between the two parties in the field of oil and gas, renewable energies and environmental protection were discussed, as Eng. Mustafa Sanalla confirmed that the National Oil Corporation intends to benefit from the expertise of the United Kingdom in the field of training and developing the human resources in the oil and gas industry, considering that British institutes and universities have been the appropriate place for training historically.
 
He also referred to the difficulties facing the national oil sector, explaining at the same time that the situation began to improve, especially after approving part of the funds needed by NOC and its companies, in order to be able to fulfill their obligations and responsibilities at the local and international levels.
 
The two sides discussed the possibility of British companies contributing to the development of the oil industry in Libya, where the British Deputy Head of Mission Kate English expressed the desire of specialized British companies to provide technical and technological advice to contribute to raising the level of production and capacity building.
The two sides also discussed extensively the role of the National Oil Corporation in promoting transparency and good governance. NOC reviewed the efforts made in this regard, which are carried out in cooperation with international bodies known for their good reputation and technical competence.
