International Workers’ Day Address from Chairman of the NOC
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Peace and blessings be upon His noblest Messenger.
To my brothers, sisters, and colleagues across our nation’s oil and gas industry, from our offices to the furthest fields of our beloved Libya.
Peace, mercy, and the blessings of Allah be upon you all.
On International Workers’ Day, an occasion dear to all our hearts, it is my distinct pleasure to address you. These words stem from my profound pride in standing among such valiant individuals. You have written epics of heroism and achieved remarkable success in the face of immense challenges, proving that nothing is impossible through dedication.
Today is more than a tradition or a series of speeches; it is a moment of deep reverence for the hands that build and the tireless effort that drives our nation’s production. We honor those who sweat and strive for Libya’s economic prosperity.
To our dedicated workers in every field, and to every employee across our ports, offshore platforms, and work sites without exception: thank you for your unwavering commitment.
Today, I want to share a special message of gratitude. The successes we have recently achieved, from increasing production rates to new exploration milestones, were only possible because of your unwavering dedication under all conditions.
Your tireless efforts have proven that you are the robust foundation of our national economy. Through your commitment to our strategic vision for this sector, we have overcome significant hurdles and achieved tangible progress, placing the Libyan oil sector firmly on the path toward global leadership and comprehensive development.
I also wish to proudly commend our occupational health, safety, and security teams at every site. You are the essential shield protecting our nation’s resources and the safety of our people.
Your pivotal role in mitigating risks and your ability to respond to incidents with precision and speed have been fundamental to ensuring the safety of our people and the integrity of our facilities.
By upholding international standards for rapid response, you have not only prevented losses but also cultivated the safe, stable environment we strive to maintain.
My brothers and sisters, our ambitions do not stop at our current successes. Our true focus is the development of our human capital: our greatest wealth.
The National Oil Corporation remains dedicated to supporting you and providing the resources necessary to foster a stimulating and innovative workplace.
In closing, I congratulate each of you on this day and encourage you to remain steadfast in your dedication. Libya is proud of you, and the NOC deeply values your indispensable role in our shared success.
Happy International Workers’ Day. May our sector continue to flourish through your efforts.
May Allah save Libya. Peace, mercy, and the blessings of Allah be upon you.
