Local Experts Hook Another Success for Mellitah in the Field of Well Maintenance

For the third time in less than three months, Mellitah Oil and Gas Company’s technical teams achieved a major success by completing maintenance work on well A-28 in the Abu Attifel field. The operation included isolating the associated water layers and re-perforating the well, supporting the company’s efforts to improve well efficiency and boost production rates.

This process resulted in a cut of the associated water (WC) percentage from 87% to 0%, down from nearly 5,000 barrels per day before the operation. At the same time, the oil production rate increased from 580 barrels per day to 2,490 barrels per day, with a wellhead pressure (WHP) of 1,897 psi achieved on the same 56/64 choke size.

These results demonstrate the effectiveness of the technical solutions implemented and the ability of the teams to carry out the work to the highest technical standards, leading to improved production performance and better reservoir utilization.

With this achievement, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the NOC, Engineer Masoud Suleman, praised the efforts of the employees and everyone involved in the project. He recognized their effective role in advancing production and in further developing the sector’s facilities for the purpose of delivering highly positive results.
