National Oil Corporation Hosts Joint Workshops with U.S. Department of Commerce and Global Oil Companies

Cairo, December 1, 2024 – The National Oil Corporation (NOC) of Libya, in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Commerce, is hosting a series of high-level workshops in Cairo over two consecutive days, starting today. The event includes participation from NOC’s Chairman, members of the Board of Directors, and several department heads, along with CEOs from its subsidiary companies.

The workshops aim to strengthen partnerships with international oil companies, explore the latest technological advancements in oil production, and discuss investment opportunities in the oil and gas sector.

Representatives from major global oil and energy companies are also in attendance, providing a platform for exchanging ideas and insights on the key challenges and opportunities facing the sector.

Key discussions focus on:
• Developing strategies to boost oil production and ensure sustainable growth.
• Protecting the oil sector’s digital infrastructure.
• Enhancing operational efficiency and driving new discoveries.

Additionally, the workshops feature a presentation on the NOC’s “Million Trees” initiative, a project aimed at improving the environment and promoting sustainability in areas surrounding oil operations.

In his remarks during the workshop, Dr. Farhat Bengdara, Chairman of the NOC, highlighted Libya’s vast untapped oil resources, noting that 70% of the country’s territory remains unexplored. He emphasized the significant opportunities this presents for future growth and reaffirmed the NOC’s commitment to developing these resources in collaboration with international partners.
