New well Z-13 boosts Gulf Oil’s Al-Bayda yield by 488 barrels per day

The Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO) has officially started operations at Well Z-13 in the Al-Bayda field, linking it to the Al-Dur production station. This milestone comes after specialized maintenance teams successfully completed their mechanical connection work, which included installing a 4-inch diameter production line that stretches 2 kilometers. This significant technical achievement took 45 days of continuous effort, with contributions from the pipeline maintenance, transportation, engineering, and construction teams.

Initial tests conducted by Gulf Oil Company in collaboration with APETCO, and overseen by the field’s Production Engineering Coordination Unit, have shown promising results. Daily production has reached 488 barrels of crude oil with an API gravity of 32 degrees, and no associated water has been detected. Technical data indicates that the well is flowing naturally with a head pressure of 130 PSI through a 20/64-inch choke valve. The production separator pressure at the station has remained stable between 50 and 55 PSI, with a total gas flow rate estimated at 24,000 standard cubic feet per day. These results demonstrate a successful enhancement of the station’s operational efficiency and a boost to the field’s overall production capacity.

This achievement is part of the NOC’s ongoing commitment to its strategic goals of increasing production rates and developing oil fields. It aligns with their aspirations to enhance operational capabilities and support the national economy by optimizing the investment of available resources.
