NOC and Chevron Ink Deal for Offshore Oil Study in Block NC146
NOC Chairman, Engineer Masoud Suleman, announced that NOC has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Chevron to conduct a comprehensive technical study of offshore Block NC146.
The NOC Chairman said this step marks a new beginning in assessing promising offshore potential. He added that Block NC146 is an unexplored area with encouraging geological indicators that could lead to significant discoveries, helping to strengthen national reserves.
Suleman added that partnering with a global company the size of Chevron will broaden NOC’s horizons for transferring advanced technology and applying best practices in offshore exploration. He said this will support NOC’s efforts to develop the energy sector in a sustainable and secure manner.
He added that this partnership is not merely a technical agreement, but rather a message of confidence in the Libyan investment environment and evidence of the return of major companies to work and explore promising opportunities in our country. He pointed out that it is a step that reflects a strategic direction to enhance Libya’s position in the global energy market.
