NOC Begins Trial Run for Mellitah’s KK Station Gas Project
The National Oil Corporation (NOC) celebrates the success of Mellitah Oil & Gas Company’s progress on the KK Station gas utilization project. This morning, Thursday, September 10, 2026, the company began trial operations, marking an important milestone.
The project is designed to recover the full volume of associated gas produced by the station’s wells, about 15 million cubic feet per day, and transport it through a 40-kilometer pipeline to the Abu Attifel field. There, the gas is processed at the natural gas liquefaction plant before being pumped toward the Zueitina hub and connected to the coastal network. The result is a reliable supply of energy for the national grid and support for local market demand.
Beyond its economic value in helping increase production and enable more sustainable operations, this project is also a major step toward reducing environmental emissions and protecting the environment. It further supports the NOC’s strategy to achieve “zero gas flaring” by 2030.
In recognition of this important addition to Mellitah Oil & Gas Company’s record of achievements, the NOC Chairman extends his greetings to the company’s management committee and workforce, and to everyone who contributed to this success. He expresses his sincere gratitude and deep appreciation for their tireless efforts and steadfast commitment.
