National Oil Corporation (NOC) chairman, Eng. Mustafa Sanalla met on April 8, 2019, at NOC’s Tripoli headquarters with oil sector operating companies to discuss security and safety at all oilfields, ports, facilities and corporate headquarters. Participants examined all necessary precautionary measures to ensure continued production and worker safety given the the security situation in the country.

Eng. Mustafa Sanalla, NOC chairman, opened the meeting with a review of standard operating procedures and contingency plans to maintain oil market supply. The NOC Board remains in close contact with subsidiary management to ensure oil sector worker safety is prioritised in the face of heightened security risks.

The NOC chairman stressed the neutrality of the oil sector and corporation as a technical and economic institution. Sanalla highlighted the importance of NOC remaining free from all political and military conflict, with no other objective than continued production, in a safe working environment, to drive national development.

“Continued production is vital to our economic and shared future. However, we will spare no effort to ensure all sector employees are protected and kept out of harm’s way. Conflict only serves to deepen division in our country and jeopardize our national recovery,” added Sanalla.

The meeting was attended by Eng. Abulgasem Shengheer, NOC board member for exploration and production, chairmen and management committees of sector operating companies, as well as general managers and managers of security, safety and environmental protection subsidiary departments.
