NOC Chairman Receives European Union Ambassador to Libya

This morning, the Acting Chairman of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), Eng. Masoud Suleman, received the European Union Ambassador to Libya, Mr. Nicola Orlando, and his accompanying delegation at his office in Tripoli.

The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between the NOC and the EU, particularly in advancing the development of Libya’s oil sector in line with the NOC’s strategic plans.

Eng. Suleman revealed that the NOC will soon launch a public bidding round for oil exploration, encouraging European companies to invest in Libya alongside other international firms. He emphasized Europe’s continued role as a key partner to Libya’s oil sector and highlighted the NOC’s ambitions to expand partnerships in oil and gas processing and related industries.

Eng. Suleman also stressed the importance of maintaining stability within the sector and reiterated the NOC’s commitment to increasing daily production rates to meet future targets.

Ambassador Orlando commended the achievements of Libyan workforce and reaffirmed the EU’s support for the ongoing stability of Libya’s oil sector. He expressed the EU’s interest in deepening cooperation with the NOC, particularly in alternative and renewable energy projects, to open new avenues of collaboration.
