NOC Elevates Libya to a Pivotal Status of Pivotal Country in Fight against Childhood Cancer

The World Health Organization (WHO) has confirmed that Libya has become a pivotal country in the Global Initiative for Childhood Cancer (GICC). It praised the NOC’s role in directing its resources to support sustainable humanitarian and development issues, most notably protecting the lives of children and supporting their families.

This announcement follows the implementation of the “Improving Health Outcomes for Children with Cancer in Libya” project carried out in partnership with the WHO and with support from NOC, Repsol, Total, and Eni.

This project is part of the collaboration with the WHO’s Global Initiative for Childhood Cancer (GICC).
This partnership also supported the creation of an advanced national digital platform for registering and tracking childhood cancer cases, which helped accelerate diagnosis, enhance care quality, and expand treatment access across Libya.
For its part, the NOC reaffirmed its commitment to supporting health and social projects as part of its sustainable development strategy and its ongoing efforts to contribute to building a healthy and secure future for Libya’s children.
