NOC Presents its Vision for Establishing Social Responsibility at the Business and Human Rights Conference

The National Oil Corporation (NOC) participated in the Business and Human Rights Conference, organized by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice. The conference took place over two days, Sunday, June 29th, and Monday, June 30th, 2025, at the Corinthia Hotel Conference Hall in Tripoli. It aimed to introduce the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and explore ways to align them with the national legal and institutional framework.

A specialized team from the NOC’s Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Department, Renewable Energy and Decarbonization Department, and Media and Communications Department contributed to the conference by presenting the NOC’s vision for embedding the principles of social responsibility. This includes developing cities and villages near oil operations while improving access to basic services such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure. It also involves generating employment opportunities, safeguarding the environment, and protecting workers’ rights against occupational hazards.

The NOC affirms its unwavering commitment to respecting human rights in all its operations and implementing relevant national legislation and international standards. This dedication strengthens workers’ rights, consolidates occupational health and safety conditions, and contributes to achieving sustainable development.
