NOC supports training programmes to create job opportunities for youth looking for work in the Oil Crescent region.

The National Oil Corporation (NOC)’s Sustainable Development Department has implemented training programmes to qualify 50 job seekers from the municipalities of the Oil Crescent region (Brega, Es Sider Gulf, Zueitina and Marada). The course lasted for a month and was composed of theory and practice in two fields – the electronic diagnosis of car breakdowns and mobile phone programming and maintenance.
On Saturday, September 5, 2020, the trainees received equipment including vehicle breakdown detection devices and mobile phone maintenance and programming devices. This will enable the individuals to directly engage in the labour market. An encouraging and motivating step by NOC.
The ceremony for presenting certificates of completion of the training course and distributing equipment for trainees took place under the supervision of the Brega Municipal Council and under the auspices of the Brega Medical Advisory Committee and the Brega Red Crescent Society. During the ceremony, all means of medical protection, including masks and gloves were also provided. The ceremony was held in the presence of Mr Nasser Attiya, Mayor of the Brega Municipality, Mr Faraj Bawazneh, Chairman of the Council of Elders and Notables of the Brega Municipality, Mr Idris Arish Member of the Brega Municipal Council, Mr Ali Kridan and Mr Moadh Shitao, representatives of the NOC’s Sustainable Development Department.
The Sustainable Development Department had previously implemented a similar training course for youth looking for work in the Wahat region.
