Energy for Good

The Libyan National Oil Corporation plays an important role in driving societal and environmental change to support Libya’s economic and social development.

We’re working to ensure what we do as a business has a positive impact on the people, communities and societies touched by our operations. For this reason, the NOC has made investment into community and social projects part of our company fabric.

Led by our Sustainable Development Department, areas of investment include healthcare, education, sports, infrastructure, and job creation. We give back to each part of society and each part of Libya.

Our success stories

Among our success stories in the last year are supporting oncology patients in Misrata, establishing a water desalination plant in Zuwarah, funding a sewage treatment plant in Nalut Hospital, and providing technical training to sixty technicians from the south of Libya.

To create the best outcomes, we work with some of the brightest minds from international companies and NGOs such as the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the World Food Programme.

Each of the projects financed by the NOC has development goals that correspond to the UN’s 17 Social Development Goals.
