NOC Chairman Extends Eid al-Adha Greetings to Sector Employees, Reassures Public on Fuel Availability
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the NOC, Eng. Masoud Suleman, congratulated all employees across the sector on the occasion of Eid al-Adha. In a speech delivered during a celebration held at the NOC’s headquarters in Tripoli, he praised their efforts and their role in supporting an industry that is the country’s main source of national income, as well as in increasing production. He said that in May, the NOC achieved the highest monthly revenues in the past ten years, about 4 billion from crude oil sales and royalties, and attributed this performance to qualified national technical expertise, despite the challenges the sector has faced during these exceptional circumstances.
He also said that NOC continues to strengthen its institutional performance through a clear, phased plan, overseen directly by the Chairman and monitored by members of the Board of Directors. He noted the issuance of a guide on powers and delegations, which gives middle management broader authority, thus improving operational efficiency and decision-making.
During his address, Eng. Masoud Suleman reassured the public that fuel supplies were continuous and uninterrupted, with ample reserves. He explained that the number of gasoline tankers contracted for delivery during May reached 17, the highest delivery rate in the institution’s history.
He added that total fuel expenditures during May exceeded one billion dollars, indicating that the current crisis is not due to fuel shortages, but rather to the mechanisms for distributing and monitoring fuel to prevent its diversion through illegal channels.
