NOC Chairman Inspects Rashad Field Development Project

Engineer Masoud Suleman, Chairman of the Board of Directors of NOC, made a field visit this morning, Sunday, May 24, 2026, to several operational and technical sites within the Rashad Field Development Project.

The tour began with a visit to the well complex project currently under construction. During the visit, he reviewed progress on the main pipeline connecting to the gas processing plant at the Istiqlal Field (former Altahadi Field), as well as the project’s overall completion rate.

He also inspected the gas receiving point at the Istiqlal Field and received technical briefings from field workers and officials. They provided a detailed explanation of the plant’s readiness to receive and process the produced gas, in line with the approved operational plans.

The tour also included a visit to the gas processing plant and the control room. There, he observed the operational processes and learned firsthand about the main difficulties facing the workers, primarily the shortage of spare parts and some labor-related concerns linked to budget constraints. This underscores the need to identify practical solutions to ensure the field’s continued efficient operation.

The tour included an inspection of the ongoing technical operations at well FF26-6, which involve well stimulation using hydrochloric acid and nitrogen gas cleaning to enhance production efficiency and improve operational performance.

The tour also included a visit to NAGECO, a subsidiary of the NOC where Engineer Masoud Suleman reviewed the condition of the equipment and its technical readiness.

The Rashad field project is among the important marginal-field initiatives expected to come online within the next few months. It will help increase gas supplies to the coastal network for electricity generation and heavy industry, reducing reliance on liquid fuels and supporting higher national income.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the NOC expressed his appreciation to the national staff and workers at all sites, commending their efforts despite the challenges.
