Libya’s NOC Talks Energy Investments with Indian Delegation

The NOC, in coordination with its International Cooperation Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of National Unity, hosted an official delegation from the Republic of India. An expanded meeting was held, chaired by Board Member Mr. Ahmed Ammar and attended by several directors from relevant departments. The Indian delegation was led by Mr. Suresh Kumar, Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs.

At the outset of the meeting, Mr. Ahmed Ammar conveyed the greetings of the NOC Board of Directors Chairman, Eng. Masoud Suleman, to the delegation members. He also highlighted the NOC’s strong interest in international investment and its ongoing efforts to open channels that support the development of Libya’s oil and gas sector.

In turn, the Indian delegation conveyed the Government of India’s commitment to strengthening economic ties and noted the potential for Indian companies to contribute to oil and renewable energy projects. They also invited the NOC and its subsidiaries to exchange visits, and reaffirmed their readiness to provide all necessary facilities and support for training and capacity-building programs.

At the close of the meeting, both sides agreed to continue coordinating through official channels to organize a joint forum at the earliest possible opportunity. The forum will bring together Indian oil-sector companies and Libyan oil-sector officials to discuss available investment opportunities in a way that advances the shared interests of both countries.
