NOC pushes forward with million-tree planting campaign

The National Oil Corporation (NOC) is moving forward with its newly launched afforestation campaign, which aims to plant one million trees as part of its strategy to cut carbon dioxide emissions.

Today, Saturday, February 28, 2026, the NOC finished planting trees in the area around the Abu Attifel Oil Field, one of the key locations for this initiative.

The NOC’s Sustainable Development Department announced that the project is now over 50% complete, covering various regions of Libya near production sites. The campaign will keep going in the coming days to reach its goal.

The Chairman of the NOC Board of Directors, Engineer Masoud Suleman, is closely overseeing the project’s progress. He highlights its significance in reducing carbon dioxide emissions and increasing oxygen levels in areas near production sites.
