Sinoun Oil Field Restarts Production
The Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO), a part of the National Oil Corporation’s (NOC) efforts to boost production and enhance operations, has restarted production at the Sinoun oil field in the Nalut region. This marks a significant step forward after a hiatus of over three and a half years, caused by financial and technical challenges with shipping through the pipeline to the Mellitah Industrial Complex.
This important milestone has been achieved with the guidance and support of the Chairman of the NOC Board of Directors, who emphasized that the NOC is committed to its strategic plan aimed at increasing production levels. This effort is designed to support the national economy and strengthen state resources.
The company’s technical and engineering teams have successfully completed essential maintenance and repairs to resolve operational bottlenecks. They have now started gradually pumping oil while prioritizing safety and efficiency standards. Initially launched in 2020, the field is back in operation and plays a vital role in the oil infrastructure of the western region, significantly contributing to the overall performance of the sector.
