NOC inaugurates an advanced crude-oil flow measurement system at the Sidra oil terminal, operated by Waha Oil Company.

Today, Tuesday, August 25, 2026, the NOC, together with Waha Oil Company, held an inauguration ceremony for a new crude-oil flow measurement system at the Sidra oil terminal. The event took place in the presence of representatives from the NOC’s General Department of Inspection and Measurement.

The new system is expected to significantly improve the efficiency and accuracy of measurement and export operations in the sector. It was developed through ongoing follow-up and direct support from Engineer Masoud Suleman, Chairman of the NOC Board of Directors.

The modern system includes two metering skids, each fitted with four ultrasonic flow meters. This configuration delivers high accuracy and reliability in calculating exported crude-oil quantities in line with international fiscal metering standards.

Each skid is also equipped with an advanced master meter calibration system for continuous verification of meter performance, based on the master meter proving principle. This improves operational transparency and strengthens confidence in measurement results during export operations.

In this regard, the Chairman and members of the NOC’s Board of Directors extend their sincere congratulations to Waha Oil Company, the General Department of Inspection and Measurement, and all national personnel who contributed to completing this vital project in recognition of their ongoing efforts to develop Libya’s oil and gas sector infrastructure.
