NOC’s Inspection and Measurement Dept. Oversees 13 Technical Projects at Brega Port
On April 16, 2026, the General Department of Inspection and Measurement at NOC conducted a site visit to the Sirte Oil Company and the Libyan Fertilizer Company at Brega Port. The visit followed directives from the Chairman of NOC’s Board of Directors to support and monitor the inspection and measurement offices across ports and oil fields.
The visit also included recognizing the Administration of Sirte Oil Company for its maintenance and equipping of the port’s inspection office (established in 1961) which helps ensure effective monitoring of the quality and quantities of production and exports.
The Department also monitored the implementation of more than 13 key projects to modernize oil, methanol, ammonia, and gas measurement systems across the coastal network, in line with the latest international API and OIML standards. The goal is to improve data accuracy and reliability, strengthening technical discipline throughout the oil sector.
